This Pandora Charm Necklace Gives Big-$$$ Vibes

This Pandora Charm Necklace Gives Big-$$$ Vibes

As jewelry trends have changed, I've also gotten older (duh). My formative style years were all about *statement* things: earrings that dusted my shoulders, cuffs that audibly banged, necklaces that probably weighed double what my current phone does. Jewelry wasn't something I thought about wearing every day, nor was it anything I wanted to (or, tbh, could) invest in. Celebrating myself with something beautiful and classic, able to be worn seamlessly with everything in my closet, every damn day if I wanted? Yeah, that wasn't my vibe.

Then, of course, I became older and wiser. My current POV is nearly the opposite: I want high-quality, beautiful things I can wear with a T-shirt and jeans, on a nice dinner out, or to a cardio-pump class. I want them to be sleek enough that I can sleep in them, and perhaps most important of all, I want them to mean something to me.

When I consider all of that, no part of me is shocked that I have turned back into the biggest Pandora fan, after wearing its perfect small-link chain necklace with a delicate birthstone charm for the better part of a week. My first love affair with the brand came courtesy of its classic charm bracelet, a special collection still tucked safely into my jewelry box. But now? Oh, we are back.

Speaking of charms, you absolutely need one that's your birthstone.

We love our charts and our horoscopes and our zodiac anything, right? So why wouldn't we be all about the specific gemstone that symbolizes when we made our entrance to the world stage? For this June baby, the freshwater-pearl charm is delicate and dainty. To anyone else checking out my necklace situation, it might just be a pretty little detail—but to me it's symbolic of who I am.

The chain looks heavy in that good, expensive sort of way, but it's actually super light to wear.

A lot of my jewelry inspo images are of women wearing thick gold chains that probably retail for more than my monthly salary: It's a look that broadcasts $$$. Pandora's gold-plated links have that same super-rich yellow-gold look, but the unique blend of metals keeps the entire thing really light (like, light enough to wear to bed or on the Pilates machine, both of which I've done).

It's got a design feature that's so, SO smart if you're into layering on charms.

Two openable links can be used for charms, meaning that you can avoid having them all clump together. That bunch-o-bananas look is fine, but there's something annoying about having multiple charms with personal meaning crowded together so no one can see how beautiful each is on its own. Plus, the fastener itself is so pretty, you won't mind if it spins around in the front. (I fastened mine higher for a lariat-type look one day.)
